JOB SUMMARY:Assist in maintaining county owned buildings, grounds, and equipment to preserve the buildings and to provide a safe and healthy environment for employees and clients.
ABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL:
Ability to follow directions
Ability to read and follow instructions to operate equipment
Considerable knowledge of electrical, plumbing, heating, and/or air conditioning equipment preferred
5 years’ experience in the HVAC and plumbing field
Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, access to dependable transportation
Universal CFC Certificate
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Primary job function is HVAC and plumbing
Repair and maintain the heating, electrical, and air-conditioning systems in county owned buildings
Maintain sidewalks, i.e., snow and ice removal
Maintain exterior of buildings
Paint and recondition offices
Maintain daily work records
Operate power equipment
Operation, maintenance and repair of refrigerant, compressors, condensers, evaporators, traps, transfer pumps, expansion valves, stop valves and float valves
Maintenance and repair of building automation systems for HVAC
Repair sanitary sewer systems, sump pumps and basins
Refer to utilize MSDS and HASCOM
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE: High school graduate or GED. Must have valid driver’s license.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Employment is dependent on background check, criminal history, and drug screen. Applicant must complete County application form.

WORK LOCATION AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to lift/carry up to and in excess of 50 lbs. Ability to climb ladders, crawl in small spaces, crouch, stand, and walk for extended periods of time. Ability to work outdoors and under somewhat adverse conditions.
